The neighbourhood of Highbury and Islington centres around the large Highbury Corner roundabout at the top of Upper Street. Known as a part of London with an abundance of culture, green spaces, restaurants and bars. The beautiful Union Chapel sits near the top of Upper Street and regularly hosts comedy nights and acoustic music gigs from some of the biggest names in the industry. Highbury Fields, meanwhile, is a popular park in the local area, thanks to its large open grass space, tall trees and special rules that allow you to cook food on a barbeque, something that is outlawed in most other London parks. For football fans, the enormous and iconic Emirates Stadium sits in the neighbourhood and is home to Arsenal Football Club. If you are unable to secure tickets to a match, why not take a tour of the stadium and see behind the scenes at one of the sports’ largest clubs. A public house since the early 1700s, The Canonbury Tavern was refurbished in 2009 giving the residents of Islington one of the best pub gardens in the city and a superb roast lunch on a Sunday.
