Chalet Vauban is a unique and spacious stone house built in 1692 by famous architect Vauban. Containing 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, the chalet has its own private hot tub and sauna. The Chalet is 5-minute drive from the ski lifts and the UNESCO world heritage old town. Summer or winter the Chalet provides breath-taking balcony views over the mountains. With period features throughout and a wood burning stove you can rest assured the Chalet will bring you a homely and cosy feeling.
The Space:
Situated across 4 floors, this breath-taking large chalet is the ideal home for your large group. On the ground floor you will find a large living/dining room area ideal for socialising and relaxing, as well as a large, fully equipped kitchen. The first, second and third floors house the sleeping areas and bathrooms. To the rear of the building you will find a spacious garden and out the front a lovely terrace, lined with beautiful plants and flowers, a BBQ and outdoor hot tub, all of which can be enjoyed whilst admiring the stunning mountain views!
The chalet is a 5-minute drive from the Prorel ski-lift, granting you access to the 4th largest ski resort in France, boasting over 300 days of sun a year. For ski families, The ESF (Ecole de ski Français) is situated at the foot of the Prorel lift.
Guest Access:
You have exclusive access to all 4 floors of the house and there are a couple of sets of keys to let you come and go as you please. You will be greeted on the day by our lovely housekeeper Colin, who lives in the area and knows the house inside out.

This City of Art of History, fortified by French military architect Vauban in the 18th century, is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site precisely because of its remarkable group of fortifications built between the 18th and 20th centuries in order to improve the town's defence system. Within the town there are great alpine restaurants and bars to eat and drink, and during winter and the ski-season, Briancon becomes a magical place.
Getting Around:
Whilst it is recommended that you bring or hire a car to get to the chalet, There is now an on demand bus service called WiiLiiK, it works similar to Uber and you can order a bus as and when you need to via an App and it services the whole valley. Alternatively you can drive and park most places and buses run regaularly throughout the valley,
