Perched on the gentle hills of Stabbiano, Casa al Colle is a haven of tranquility, yet only a 15 minute drive from the medieval walled city of Lucca. Once two houses, this country retreat has been fully renovated and equipped to be a smoothly functioning home that sleeps up to 10 individuals in 5 bedrooms. Designed for entertaining, Casa al Colle’s walls could tell of the many times her guests have danced the night away.
Regarding the reviews - I am still the owner - I have simply moved the property on the website to be managed by me. We ask prospective guests to book 7 day stays from Saturday to Saturday.
Please note that the house is a non smoking place including Vapes etc. - including outdoor areas - if you smoke, this isn't a house for you.
Spend your days swimming and basking in the Tuscan sun. At the top of her list of lavish outdoor amenities is Casa al Colle's state-of-the-art 18 x 6m infinity style ozone pool and hot tub.
Please note the pool is what I call, a swimmers pool; the shallow end of the pool is standable but midway becomes quite deep. Please ensure that you and your guests are comfortable being around such a pool. I do not recommend for non swimmers.
Whether you’re enjoying an afternoon nap or a sunset sky awash with color, the veranda is also an impeccable spot. Relish the hilltop summer breeze as you dine under the pergola. Savor grilled delights or flaky crusted pizza prepared on the outdoor barbecue and in the wood burning pizza oven. A run through the hills or a ride on one of 3 high-end road-racing bikes may be just the way to renew your spirit. Or perhaps picking a basket of plums, kumquats, peaches or figs in the orchard is how you prefer to spend your time.
The villa’s old-world tuck-pointed facade is contrasted by her modern chic interior décor. With impossibly high ceilings, the atmosphere is airy and bright. The open plan design allows you to move seamlessly from kitchen to dining room to living areas.
Please note - the house does not have air conditioning. Each room however has a large ( and super quiet ) ceiling fan. Although things can get warm in the summer, we have never found it to be uncomfortable ( your mileage may vary ! ) .
In cooler times, spend an evening by the fire in front of the fireplace while watching TV. And when a cozy fire isn’t enough, turn on the underfloor radiant heat to take the chill out of the air.
There’s no end to your choice of indoor activities at Casa al Colle. Have a spontaneous family night and play one of the many board games available. Navigate online with any of your devices as there is wifi throughout the property. Stretch and retreat into your own inner sanctuary in the villa’s yoga room. And create legendary meals to impress in her sleek kitchen, with stone countertops and contemporary backsplash. You’ll love the villa’s numerous culinary conveniences, like a Nespresso coffee maker, rice cooker, yoghurt maker, and plate warmer drawers.
The two master bedrooms, one on the ground/first floor and one on the second floor, have king size beds and ensuite bathrooms. The top level ensuite boasts double sinks, a free-standing bathtub, and steam-shower. The additional three bedrooms offer a variety of sleeping arrangements, with one queen size bed, two singles, and one bunkbed with a Twin and a Full. Each of the four bathrooms is furnished with a towel warmer. The midlevel bath features a rainwater style shower head.
There are fly screens on all windows allowing you to leave windows open for fresh air all day.
Per VRBO policies please note we have security cameras that monitor the exterior of the house and these include coverage of the pergola, pool and hot tub. We only access these devices when the property is vacant.
