La Maison Tropicale is a perfect blend of boutique hotel luxury and the privacy of home. You'll have everything you need from Lux toiletries, Turkish cotton towels, linens + robes to a French inspired chef's kitchen. Additionally, this new stylish + vibrant home is located in the beautiful Bywater; a historic arts and jazz district flooded with great restaurants, shops, + culture and less than 10 minutes drive from the famous French Quarter, though we recommend the walk!
THE SPACE
Thoughtfully designed with both the vacationer and digital nomad in mind, this elegant, newly constructed home will quickly immerse you into the Big Easy lifestyle.
Built in the Historic District, the home pays subtle tribute to traditional New Orleans style and architecture throughout. Approaching your private entryway, the first sign of this intentional design, reveals itself through the boxed veranda ceiling with beaded board and light green hue. In contrast, the space takes on modern conveniences, such as keyless entry (arrive at your leisure), luxury bathrooms featuring an oversized shower, waffle weaved robes, + cruelty-free toiletries, high-speed Gb internet, water filtration system...we could go on!
Upon entrance, you are immediately greeted by soaring twelve foot ceilings and natural hardwoods. In addition to the, again subtle, nod to the traditional shot-gun style homes of New Orleans, the transom window above the front entrance is one of many windows capturing the sunlight in all directions throughout the day.
The home itself hosts several rooms:
UPSTAIRS
THE VOODOO ROOM (Primary Bedroom). Slip into a trance in this mystically dark room with hypnotically decorated ceiling. This bedroom keeps an oversized upholstered king bed, floor to ceiling black-out drapery, a small closet and wardrobe with plenty of wooden hangers. The decor is what you can expect in any good VooDoo room with sleek, dark features, black mambas and (resin) animal skulls proudly on display. There is even a furry friend waiting at the foot of your bed. (On a serious note: no animals were harmed in the making of this room.)
The en-suite is a bit more spritely with light walls and a large window feature in the spa inspired walk-in shower allowing you to look over the Bywater neighborhood every morning. Of course, included are 100% Turkish cotton towels and cruelty-free Lux bath products.
LA CHAMBRE LOUISIANE (Secondary Bedroom). Inspired by the broader culture of Louisiana, this room boasts a four poster queen bed with sheer drapery for an elegant vacation slumber. Feel free to sleep in as the room features 12 ft. black-out drapery on all four oversized windows. Keeping true to the Historic French Louisiana culture, you must sip your morning coffee on your attached, private balcony while listening for the roosters to crow. (Yes, Nola has wild-ish chickens!).
If you must, shut the door + spend some time catching up on emails at your very own workspace overlooking your balcony. Just don't spend too much time in front that screen - this is The Big Easy after all.
THE BIG EASY Room (converted 3rd bedroom). As mentioned above, when you're in N'awlins, ya gotta take in easy, cher! So, we have converted the not needed office space in the house to a 3rd bedroom. Though the smallest of the three, this room also features floor to ceiling black-out curtains and its own private Juliet balcony, perfect for two! The full size daybed hugs you in at night and the full length mirror gets you ready for the day. What more do you need for a vacation in Creole Country. Note* this space is separated from the hallway by floor to ceiling sliding privacy curtains.
Full Bathroom #2. The second + third bedroom share a full bathroom complete with oversized window (with privacy screen) shower/tub combination and, of course, 100% Turkish cotton towels and cruelty-free, Lux bath products.
Laundry. The home features brand new state-of-the-art washer + dryer complete with steam options for a quick sprucing of that perfect dress that's been folded up in your luggage. There is also an iron for your convenience.
DOWNSTAIRS
The lower level of the home is an open concept with each room seamlessly blending into the next offering a true feeling of togetherness for families and friends traveling together.
The French inspired chef's kitchen offers quartz countertops, black stainless steel appliances, gas stove, oversized fridge + water filtration system. You'll have everything you need to cook Creole meal for your whole family!
Seating is abundant with barstools for the kitchen island and a dining room table that seats 6 comfortably.
The living room couch doubles as a twin mattress for an extra sleeping space and the flat screen TV has Roku built in, so you can log in to all of your streaming services.
There is also a half bathroom on the first floor for convenience.
The backyard is large and grassy with a newly built deck and fenced yard.
